Below are some frequently asked questions that may help you.

How do I place an order?

For the avoidance of doubt, the advertisements appearing in this site constitute an invitation to treat. If you wish to purchase goods from us you should order by adding the item to Your Cart and completing Billing and Shipping details as prompted at this site. There will be no binding contract between us until we send you an e-mail confirming your order.

Payment is taken from your card at the time the order is taken. All the products prices are in UK pounds sterling and include VAT where payable but exclude delivery charges.  Delivery is added on when you proceed to checkout, and is normally based on order value but is based on weight where unusually heavy items are ordered (eg play sand or climbing frames etc).

Do I have a cooling off period?

Yes, under the European Directive on distance selling which is incorporated into UK law by The Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000, you have the right to cancel your order, for any reason, from the time you place the order, up to 10 days after receiving your goods. To excercise this right please email or phone us. All goods must be made available for collection. We regret that we are unable to pay for the return of goods in these circumstances. Your money will be refunded within 14 working days from the day you cancel your order. Are your toys and games safe and well-made?

Yes. All our toys are made by manufacturers who have earned acclaim for their high toy standards. There are tough guidelines about selling toys within the UK and this is overseen by our local Trading Standards Officer, Hampshire County Council, The Castle, Winchester, Hampshire SO23 8ZB.  We take great care in choosing the suppliers we deal with. All our toys carry the CE sign of approval. We deal only with manufacturers who use non-toxic paints, glues and varnishes and where wood is used, it must be from sustainable sources.

Do I get my money back if the toy is faulty or damaged?

We make every effort to ensure that all our toys and games are free from defects. In the unlikely event that a toy purchased from Topical Toys is faulty or damaged, we will refund your money, send a replacement item, or let you exchange the item for other products in our range. Many of our toys are covered by a manufacturer’s guarantee. If a toy or game is faulty we will arrange for the item to be collected and we will also refund the cost of postage that you paid. Your statutory rights are not affected.

 

What happens if my toys or games are damaged in transit?

We make every effort to ensure that your toys are suitably packed to prevent damage. Should you receive goods where poor packaging or handling has caused any damage to your toys please email or phone us as soon as possible. We take full responsibility for goods damaged in transit. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

If I want to make a complaint, who should I speak to?

While we hope you'll be completely delighted with the quality of our toys and our friendly service, should you wish to make a complaint please write to us, or email or phone us. We will acknowledge complaints within 5 working days, advise you how long it will take to resolve the complaint and keep you informed throughout the process. We aim to respond to all complaints within five working days.

Which countries will you deliver to?

We will post toys from the UK to anywhere in the world. However, this can only be done through the website. When you get to the 'checkout', select where you want your present to be sent. Please keep in mind the fact that overseas postage can be very expensive, especially for wooden items which are heavy. To keep your postal charges as low as possible, we recommend that you order lightweight games and toys, and order well enough in advance to avoid having to pay any expensive urgent delivery requests. For overseas gifts we may require extra security details from you.

How long will my order take?

Our website shows only the toys which we actually have in stock today. Consequently, we aim to pack and despatch your order within 24 hours. Please allow three days for delivery. If we have your e-mail address we will get in touch with you when the order has been despatched. Please note that Christmas delivery times may take longer. Also, Topical Toys cannot be held responsible for delays due to postal strikes.

What happens if the toy I have ordered isn't in stock?

Our website is updated in real time to reflect what we have in stock each day. Occasionally, we may not have enough of one product to satisfy your order - in such circumstances we will contact you immediately so that you can choose to have your money refunded, put the item on order, or order an alternative product.

What about prices and payment?

All prices are inclusive of VAT at the current rate and are correct at the time of entering the relevant information. We reserve the right to change prices without prior notice but this will not affect any accepted orders. Delivery charges will be applied during Check Out. Payment must be made by credit/debit card. Our VAT no. is: 580 0272 65.

While we make every effort to ensure all prices on the website are correct, errors may occur. In the event of a price error on any goods you have ordered, we will contact you with the option of purchasing the goods at the correct price or cancelling the order. If we are unable to contact you the order will be cancelled and you will be refunded. We will not be obliged to supply goods at the incorrect price.

Prices which are reduced for special offers and promotions are valid only for the specified period. If goods are out of stock we will contact you with the option of cancelling the order or waiting for the goods to come back into stock.

If you live outside the EC and the gift is being sent to an address outside the EC you do not need to pay VAT.

What personal information do I need to give you for on-line and telephone orders?

We keep a record of your order, your home address, and the delivery address, as required by our on-line merchant service provider. This information remains confidential and we do not sell it or share it with any third party. We do not have access to your credit card details as these are processed securely by SagePay. We do not see a record of your account details or your account number. Your postal address is kept only for security purposes, and we retain the right to pass this on to our Merchant Services provider Barclays Bank Plc and/or Secure Trading, if we suspect that a card or card number is being used fraudulently. We will not use your postal address to send you unsolicited mail. Please note that information is collected lawfully and in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. If you want to talk to someone about our privacy policy, please phone or email us. For your own peace of mind please do not send account details to us via email.

Law and Jurisdiction

  All dealings between you and this website will be governed by the laws of England and Wales and the Courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction over all matters arising pursuant thereto.
